Tracy Wong

Tracy Wong, a Hong Kong made, U.S raised eccentric.  She was born in 1984, and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area when she was six.  Having a set of parents who were travel enthusiasts, Tracy had traveled throughout much of China, other parts of Asia, and North America in the course of her childhood years.
Academic wise, Tracy has always strived artistically and creatively.  During her time as an elementary school student, she has won the annual school-wide drawing contest for three consecutive years and was the first to do so in the school’s history.  Upon completing high school, Tracy took on a few fashion-related jobs before attending the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco.  She graduated with a degree in fashion design in 2010.
Just months after graduating, Tracy as invited by the founder of San Francisco Fashion and Merchant Alliance to showcase her designs in the upcoming annual San Francisco Fashion Week.  An exclusive 12 pieces collection was designed and was premiered in the avant-garde segment of the event.  The collection was coined as one of the “best of SF Fashion Week 2011” by CBS news.

Tracy Wong of Chui Chui Designs: I have always had a fascination with historical eras, especially those that were opulent and exquisite. Sometimes I would imagine myself wearing a straight, fringed dress, swaying to jazz in an art deco hall, other times I’m a very affluent woman living in Shanghai in the 1930s. And in my ultimate fantasy, I see myself walking through the Palace of Versailles, trying to fit my farthingale through the doors.
My aesthetic is deeply rooted from these fascinations of mine and they very much molded me into a romanticist. While keeping it romantic, I strive to design pieces that are feminine and luxurious, but sometimes dark with a slight risqué touch.

Paloma Picasso

Designer, businesswoman. Born April 19, 1949 in Vallauris on the French Riviera. The youngest child of master artist Pablo Picasso and his lover, artist and writer Franoise Gilot, Paloma was surrounded by artists from a very young age. Her name means "dove" in Spanish, and she was so named after the famous symbol her father designed for the International Peace Conference in Paris the year of her birth.
Paloma Picasso is represented in many of her father's works, such as Paloma with an Orange and Paloma in Blue.
Paloma's career began in 1968, when she was a costume designer in her native Paris. Some rhinestone necklaces she had created from flea market finds caused acclaim among critics, and she quickly enrolled in a jewelry course. Soon, Yves Saint Laurent asked her to design accessories to accompany one of his collections, and by 1971 she was working for the Greek jewelry company Zolotas.
In 1980, she began designing jewelry for Tiffany and Co., debuting with signature Xs and scribbles in gold and sterling silver. Soon after, she launched her own brand, Paloma Picasso, and created many perfumes and designer fashion accessories, including an eponymous scent and Mon Rouge, a dramatic scarlet lipstick that became her trademark.
In early 2001, Paloma Picasso moved to Lake Geneva in Switzerland. There, she founded the Lausanne-based Paloma Picasso Foundation, which aims to promote the works of her parents, particularly those of her mother whose artistic endeavors are little known in Europe.

She was married to Argentinean businessman Rafael Lopez-Cambil for 21 years. Soon after their divorce, she married French doctor Eric Thevenet. The couple has homes in Paris, London and Lausanne, Switzerland.

Zac Posen

Zac Posen is one of Manhattan's most popular designers about town and the girls-about-town flock to him for sultry, body-hugging, thirties- and forties-inflected party frocks. The old-Hollywood glamour of his evening looks makes them a natural choice for young stunning nominees on the Other Coast, too: Natalie Portman, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Beyoncé have all made the trip down the red carpet in a Posen showstopper.

With this in mind, it's easy to forget that Posen isn't some old head: He was born in 1980. But he is a native New Yorker and has benefited from the support of his sophisticated Soho family (his father is a painter, his mother—now the company chairman—is a corporate attorney, and his sister, Alexandra, is his creative director). Posen won a coveted internship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute (where he got a good look at the dazzling bias work of Madame Vionnet), and then headed to London to study at Central Saint Martins. In typically precocious fashion, a dress he made there was chosen to become part of the permanent collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Posen returned to New York in 2001 and almost immediately was making himself known at Gen Art's Fresh Faces show. Offers from LVMH and the Gucci Group followed, but with equally typical bravado, Posen ignored them and launched his own label. Three years later he received the Swarovski-Perry Ellis Award for Womenswear from the CFDA, and the rest, it would seem, is party-dress history.
